Hadleigh & Thundersley v Harold Wood Cricket Club 2nd XI - Saturday on Sat 24 May 2008 at 13:00
Harold Wood Cricket Club Won 5 wickets

Match report Yet again skipper Gary Smith lost the toss. Fortunately, the opposition made the right choice and elected to bat. On a hard and dry pitch, Darren Browne and Gary Smith opened the bowling. Another tight bowling spell by skipper Smith and a firey, but times wayward spell by Browne, Wood started well. At drinks the opposition were 101 for 3. Faisal Iqbal provided another very good tight bowling spell, taking 3 wickets. In addition to fine support from, Ian Webb, Tony Carman, Craig Sampson and some very good fielding from Peter Clarke and Grant Apicella, Hadleigh were restricted to 174 all out. The Wood response did not start well, loosing Grant to the first ball of the innings. Peter Clarke and Don Arachchi started to repair the early loss, before Clarke fell to a loose shot. After the loss of Arachchi, Craig Sampson came to the crease and built a fine innings of 72 not out. Craig was supported with a fine knock by Chris Clarke and at the end a fine innings of 0 not out by Tony Carman.
