Harold Wood Cricket Club 2nd XI - Saturday v Walthamstow on Sat 01 Jul 2006 at 1:30
Harold Wood Cricket Club Won 6 wickets
Match report
Harold Wood 2nd XI bounced back from last weeks disappointing defeat to be victorious over Walthamstow. Stow won the toss and decided to bat and were going along nicely at 100-1 off 14 overs before the introduction of Shabbier Khan and Tom Clarke. The two combined to tie up the Walthamstow batting with their combination of off and leg spin; Khan bowling 20-2-73-5 whilst Clarke finished with 18-1-60-3. Walthamstow finished on an under par 216 for 9 off their 52 overs. Wood lost opener Richard Hyde early on but then an excellent 124 run partnership between Satvinder Singh and Ian Wooding (54) laid the foundation for the run chase. Singh was eventually out for 86 and it was left to Matt Sewell (45*) and Usman Khan (15*) to get the Wood home to their victory target with 6 wickets still in hand.
