Match report The Wood started off their League Cup campaign with a comfortable win away to Billericay. Though the end result of winning by 115 runs represented a convincing win, the batting failed to impress. With 3 batsmen passing 30 yet not one making a score of 40, there were starts but werent converted. The Vicar looked in positive form for his 35, but his entertaining innings was "interestingly" cut short.
Useful contributions from Misbah aka Abdul, Treacle and Razor, got the Wood up to a respectable 210-9. Some well directed short bowling accounted for 3 of the top 6, however, the wicket offered some inconsistent bounce leading to their downfall.
Defending 210, early wickets were crucial. Oz provided the 1st break through but struggled with rythm and was taken off after 4 overs. The Coach bowling seam off a few steps, picked up 2 wickets from his 3 over "burst" and set about putting the Wood firmly on top. Imi bowled his 8 overs straight through for an impressive return of 2 for 27. Everyone else chipped in with wickets, highlight been Hydey's legside stumping off Treacle's wide flith.
Overall a good performance in the field, with all catches been held and the bowlers all getting a good work out.
