Harold Wood Cricket Club Lost by 46 runs

Match report Division 3 Harold Wood suffered a heavy defeat to Premiership Ilford in the first competitive game of the season. After losing the toss Wood were put in the field and could not prevent a quite brilliant innings from ex Canada captain Diwan.

But it was the explosive batting of Whitting at the end of their innings which propelled Ilford to a score that proved to be unreachable on a flat wicket. In reply, Sohail and Mirza began well by putting on 153 for the first wicket, but the scoring rate was always too high as Brabner's side fell 46 short.
