Harold Wood Cricket Club Won 43 runs
Match report
Having lost the toss we were asked to bat. The skipper (yours truly) decided we'd mix things up for this game and we opened the batting with Pete and Chris B. We got off to a solid start, Chris B scoring quickly before running himself out, which brought Oz to the crease in at number 3. Pete, got to his 25 in no time and was soon followed by number 4 Abdul. Oz capped off a good batting performance and also got to 25. In the end we finished on a above par total of 149 for 3.
Unfortunately for the oppo, they were never really in the hunt. In the absence of Waqs, the skipper turned his arm to spin. Picked up an early wicket and we kept chipping away. Even with a stunning drop catch from Pete (sorry pal), we ran out comfortable winners by 43 runs. And that too with Pete bowling 2 overs and Abdul bowling 1, even though his one over was as long as 3!
Good effort lads, Fives A next
Shahzad.
