Match report
The Wood Return to Winnings Ways
Having won the toss, we decided to have a bowl. It was a time for trying something new, so Waqs opened the bowling and overall did a great job. Kept it tight and picked up a wicket. All round it was a decent bowling effort, Oz picking up 2 wickets and Craig bowled as tight as always and also chipped in with a major scalp. We bowled out the oppo in the 11th over for a below par 114.
In line with the theme of "something new", me and Craig opened the batting. Having scored only 1 off the 2nd over, we still managed to get the score up too 47 off 5 overs and Craig retired. Abdul did his usual thing, and ran me out but ensure he got to his 25 and retired too. Waqs contribued swiftly amongst some struggles and it was left to 8 needed off the last over. 2 off the 1st ball was followed by Waqs getting run out. 6 off 4 with 2 new batsmen at the crease. Chris B tucked his 1st ball away for 3 and brought Oz on strike. 3 off 3 neeeded and Oz duly smashed the ball and dashed through for the run too, so we had won by the convincing margin of 4 wickets.
All round good effort and were sitting comfortably in 5th place!
