Match report On Sunday Wood were lucky enough to be playing Southend-on-Sea in Southend and managed to get a game in, even with all the wet weather about. A 40 over game saw Southend score 148 for 7 on a tough pitch to bat on. Azmat Shazhad on his return to Harold Wood bowled well to take 2-20 including the prize wicket of Ben Wathen for a duck. Opener Chris Hall (2-40) was also in the wickets early on. In reply Wood got off to a flyer, openers Mahela Wijaylath and Nadeem Sohail (22) scoring 82 runs off the first 10 overs before Sohail fell. Wijaylath played well for the rest of the innings and scored at a quick strike rate and his 88 not out meant that the Wood got to their target with 8 wickets still in hand and with 15 overs still to be bowled.
