Match report Things didnt start brightly when Gaf decided to pull out on the morning of the game. Thankfully, Oz was kind enough to step in at very short notice. Lost the toss and were put into the field. A change of ball, meant we were back using the tried and tested but no so great Readers rubber indoor ball. With no Gaf, your match reporter had to keep wicket, meaning Brabs got to bowl the opening over. And what an opening over it was! 3 wides, 1 no ball and 2 boundaries meant we had conceded 20 overs from our 1st over. We recovered, sort of, overall a good bowling display with Craig, Sam and Oz all bowling well. Fielding was below par and the opposition managed to rack up 165, easily the highest total we’ve been spanked for all season.

It was going to require a monumental batting effort to get close, let alone win it. Pete and Craig gave us a steady platform, Pete eventually falling after attempting several late dabs without much success. Craig swiftly got to his 25, followed by Brabs. A quick cameo from Sam at 4 saw us in a position to maybe pull off a shock. But it werent to be, requiring 60 off the last 4 overs was a tall order, Oz and myself were run out searching for runs. Craig was undone by a superb slower ball. It was left to Brabs, who managed to biff 18 off the last over. Though we fell well short on 141 all out.
