Harold Wood Cricket Club Indoor (Met.) A Team v South Woodford A on Sat 19 Nov 2011 at 9.45am
Harold Wood Cricket Club Won by 76 runs
Match report
Having won the toss, the Wood skipper decided to bat first. South Woodford only had 5 players, so we were hopeful of a big total. With new man Gibson opening with Ginger, a good start was expected. 3 balls into the innings, a Yes, NO from Ginger, saw Gibson run out without facing. TFC Gibson.
We recovered well, Gaf and Ginger both getting to 25 and retiring. And then useful contributions from Waqs and Hydow, with Hydow getting bat on ball many times, saw us end up with a good score, 152-4.
Another good bowling performance from all, ensured South Woodford were always behind the asking rate. Ginger with some smart fielding got out the senior Browne and the opposition ended up with a well below par score of 76 all out.
3 wins in 4, a good start to the season. Key is, can we have the same 6 play the next game...?
