Match report Harold Wood were indebted to a 62 run unbeaten 7th wicket partnership between Richard Brabner (64*) and James Smith (19*) as the two steered them to victory over Woodford Green. Harold Wood had earlier in the day restricted Green to 197 for 6, Brabner also being pick of the bowlers with 2 for 44, Smith also took two wickets for 50. If it hadn’t been for 45 extras then the Green score would have been much smaller. Wood started well in their run chase with Nadeem Sohail (18) and Rahill Mirza (18) putting on 43 for the first wicket. However they fell close together and Wood struggled from then on, Sri Mangalpally was going along well and had reached 29 before he was caught and by the time Matt Sewell had gone for a golden Wood were on the brink at 137 for 7. However with Brabner looking calm at the crease and James Smith helping him out with the odd lusty blow the game was always there for the taking and the two reached their target of 198 with just 7 balls remaining.
