Match report We travelled to the Mighty Oxford with a real mixture of talent but hopeful of a positive result. The ground werent quite like what most had imagined or expected, though there was a job to be done. Bowling first, Shoaib's Love-Child aka Hitesh got us off to a good start. Picking up 1 wicket and bowling through his quota of 9 overs at a good economy rate. First change Shaf showed his potential with the ball, also bowling straight through and picking up 2 crucial wickets.

It was a day for bowling through, and the trend followed with Shabz completing his quota whilst also keeping a check on things.
This meant "coach" was going to have to bowl the last 9 overs from one end, with his brand of off spin. Having done a reasonable job, his last 3 overs disappeared for 33 runs.

Oxford ended up on a challenging 247-6. The Wood were generally good in the field and were reasonably happy with their efforts.

In reply, the Wood lost Misbah early on for 0. Vicar and Shabz went about re-building the innings. Vicar departed for 17 bringing Shaf to the crease. Both Shaf and Shabz were looking in good form until Shaf had a rush of blood and was stumped. Shabz at the other was settling nicely and things were starting to look omnious for Oxford. El-Clarke came and went, though Blondie joined Shabz and both were looking in good touch. Shabz having hit some meaty blows departed for 85, unfortunately wasnt able to see us home despite 2 lives. Blondie followed shortly, and Oxford were back in the game. However the youth of Hamza and the cool head of Floppy, saw us canter home to a comfortable win.

A great win given many thought we stood no chance. Look forward to Round 2 and for the journey to continue.
