Welcome To Our New Shirt Sponsors
HAROLD HILL FOODBANK

Many of you will remember the successful foodbank collection we organised earlier this year.
This was to support our local foodbank in Harold Hill - who have been working incredibly hard to support local vulnerable people through these most testing of times.
To help further support the foodbank we have decided to make them our shirt sponsors for the remainder of the 2020 season - of course they haven’t been charged for the privilege - we will instead be donating money to them.
Price
For every shirt that is bought £2.50 of the price will go to the foodbank - with the club matching that - so in total every shirt bought will mean £5 going to the food bank. Total price per shirt is £22.50 - (Academy members will get a shirt as part of their £40 annual subscription).
End of season celebration
On top of that - due to the current restrictions around serving and sharing food - our end of season celebration (Saturday 12th September) will be different this season. Instead of us bringing food to the club to be shared by the members we will be again organising a food bank collection with members able to bring donations to the club that will all be passed to the organisation.
How to order
To order your shirt now and to help support the foodbank simply send your name and size of shirt to Tom Clarke - 07763607076 or tpc1981@hotmail.com

CHARITY BIKE RIDE - COMPLETED
HAROLD WOOD CC - LORD's - THE OVAL - HAROLD WOOD
You can still sponsor the team https://www.justgiving.com/team/HWCC

Harry Thompson, Ed Smith and Craig Sampson completed a mammoth challenge on Friday 19th June - cycling from Harold Wood Park to Lord's Cricket Ground in St John's Wood, then over to The Oval in Kennington, before returning to Harold Wood.
The challenge was over 60 miles long.
They were raising money for the cricket club who have suffered without any play this year. Their efforts mean the club will be able to operate this summer when cricket is again allowed to be played and the club will continue to be able to do many great things - including offering free cricket to our disability team the Harold Wood Warriors.
You can still sponsor the team https://www.justgiving.com/team/HWCC
A huge thank you from all the club to Harry, Ed and Craig for their efforts and raising an amazing amount of money.

Support Your Club During This Season
In these toughest of times any support that we can get from our members and supporters will go twice the distance than it usually would.
We have teamed up with the ECB to start a Crowdfunding campaign. The ECB will match the first £100 we receive.
Donate to the Crowdfunding Campaign:
https://www.spacehive.com/haroldwoodcc
This campaign will help on many levels:
1. Keep the club afloat at this time where we have very little income
2. Continue to support our disability section the Harold Wood Warriors
3. Make sure that the club is ready to go when we can play cricket again

Update On 2020 Season
As many of you will have seen the ECB gave out some advice yesterday meaning that all forms of recreational cricket are for now suspended - full ECB statement below.
-------
“Following the Government’s latest advice around social distancing, it is with sadness and reluctance that we recommend that all forms of recreational cricket are for now suspended.
“This extends to training, pre-season friendlies and any associated cricket activity.
“Sport plays an absolutely vital role in the nation’s mental and physical wellbeing, and it helps people find meaning where there is fear and uncertainty, so one of our goals in the coming weeks will be to explore ways that we can support some levels of physical activity in communities - particularly at junior levels.
“Using our cricket community to support others could be one of the most important services we can offer during the difficult next few months.
“It will be critical that any decisions we do make are medically-led. And we will continue to work with Government and their advisors to ensure we are informed by science in our decision making.
“Over the coming weeks we will work with the game to understand what support is required across the cricket community, particularly local clubs and leagues - who will have such a huge role to play in our nation’s response to coming out of this situation.”
--------
This means that the season - which was due to start in a matter of weeks - is currently on hold. This includes training, coaching and of course games. I will continue to update you all at the club when new advice is given. But until then please do keep safe and take on board al the guidance that is being issued.
If anyone wants to chat about anything please get in touch tpc1981@hotmail.com or 07763607076
