Match report With the absence of skipper Tony Carman due to holiday and vice skipper Tom Clarke to the 1st team, it was left to ex 2nd team skipper Gary Smith to come out of retirement to take up the reigns of leadership. Winning the toss, Gazza as he is fondly known as, elected to field. A devastating opening spell of bowling by Smith and Khan left Buckhurst Hill seriously looking to score. With an astute bowling change, skipper Smith decided to bring on new boy Atif Majid. Atif out of the game for a few years tore through the middle of the oppositions batting, before being rested. Some good supportive bowling by James Smith, The Don and keeper, come leg spin bowler Hannan Nasib wrapped up the innings. In reply, an electric batting display by Peter Clarke fresh back from his time in Australia and the Caribbean (watching, not playing cricket) saw the Wood home with 7 wickets to spare.
