Harold Wood Cricket Club Indoor (Met.) A Team v Loughton on Sat 22 Oct 2011 at 9.45am
Harold Wood Cricket Club Won by 37 runs

Match report An earlier start, but thankfully all 6 players were on time. Wood skipper Shahzad Hafeez won the toss again and decided to bat. A re-shuffled batting order saw Craig and Sam open, both were looking good until a loose shot saw Sam caught on the back wall by a decent catch. Abdul's stay was brief, after which Gaf played aggressively for a quick fire 20. Craig remained at the other end and sensibly got to his 25 to retire. Shahzad was joined by Hyde, for 2 balls and then Craig return. Both he and Shahzad batted brilliantly for the last 4 overs to see the side through to a very challenging 160-4. Another game where we managed to only lose 4 wickets.

Gaf opened the bowling, and leaked 15 overs, due to some poor fielding by Shahzad. The 2nd over was much tighter and later Abdul pulled off a fine piece of fielding by running out the opener with a direct hit. Loughton were already behind the required run rate and our star bowler Craig hadnt even bowled. Craig and Sam bowled very well in tandem and we picked up wickets on a regular basis. Ending up victors by a comfortable 37 runs. And also ensuring we bowled out the opposition for the 2nd game in a row.

Next, we face the big guns of Wanstead. Should be fun to say the least.

Shahzad.
