Billericay v Harold Wood Cricket Club 2nd XI - Saturday on Sat 17 Jun 2006 at 1:30
Harold Wood Cricket Club Won 8 wickets

Match report Harold Wood 2nd XI managed to record their 3rd win a row to take them up to third in the table. They travelled to Billericay with a strong side, however as Billericay won the toss and batted first on a lovely looking pitch Billericay got off to flyer and had scored 50 in the first 10 overs before Hitesh Sharma (2-26) struck taking 2 quick wickets, the second being a very quick yorker which sent the middle stump cart wheeling. Captain Tom Clarke decided to go to spin very early introducing Shabbier Khan and his own untested leg spin. This decision proved decisive, Khan bowled 20-1-66-3 whilst Clarke bowled 16-0-58-5 as Billericay were bowled out for a below par 196. Wood started well in reply Ian Honeysett and Peter Clarke (17) put on 49 for the first wicket. Honeysett was joined by Darren Ellis who continued his good run of form with the bat as they put on another 50 run partnership before Honeysett fell for 49. Ellis was joined by Sharma and the two guided Wood home with 7 overs left and 8 wickets in hand, Ellis finishing 60* and Sharma 50*.
