Hutton v Harold Wood Cricket Club 2nd XI - Saturday on Sat 13 May 2006 at 1:30
Harold Wood Cricket Club Lost 40 runs
Match report
Wood second XI started off brightly against Hutton but poor batting let them down as they fell to a 40 run defeat. Opening bowlers Richard Bonner (4-53) and Naveed Khan (2-14) had restricted Hutton to 50-5 at one point and all was looking good, but then clean striking from Hutton’s number 6 J Smith (63) along with some bad dropped catches from the Wood meant that Hutton crawled to 174 all out, a score they would have been very happy with after the start they got. Wood lost skipper Tom Clarke early after he was run out, but the Satvinder Singh (23) and Peter Clarke (15) looked to have steadied the ship. However they both fell in the matter of a few balls, and a few other wicket left the wood on the brink at 72 for 7. However a good innings of 49 from Anthony Carman made the score a bit more respectable as Wood well eventually all out for 134.
