Match report Harold Wood 1st XI had a destructive 10 wicket victory over Ongar on Saturday. Ongar won the toss and decided to bat first but never looked too likely to get a competitive score on the board. The two main destructors with the ball were Richard Brabner who bowled two spells to end with figures of 18-6-39-4 and stand in Captain Kevin Gibson who took 5-44. The two gradually chipped away at the wickets to leave Ongar all out for 136. After tea Wood’s openers decided to set upon their target with little caution Sri Magalapally hit six 4’s off the third over of the innings to get the Wood off to a great start, and the boundaries did not stop, fellow opener Nadeem Sohail ending on 65 not out and Sri 67 not out as the two got to the target in only 12.1 overs, a totally emphatic victory for the Wood.
